Comeback Kings from Crondall

Daily Mail
16 Jun 2015

PETER RUTLAND and Paul Stevens are fast becoming the comeback kings of this year’s Daily Mail Foursomes.
The golfers from the Oak Park club in Crondall, Hampshire came back from two down with three to play in the third round to beat Mark Rietzler and Mike Ward, of Alton, at the first extra hole.
And they were at it again in the fourth round, hitting back from three down at the turn to edge out Michael Jordan and Mark Redpath, of Blackmoor, by one hole.
The Oak Park pairing put their dramatic change of form down to the sausage sandwiches on offer at the halfway hut… so what they put in the butties at the Castle Royal club at Maidenhead is anybody’s guess.
Sally Collier and Jules Tarr, from the Berkshire club, were five down at the turn in their fourth-round match against Datchet’s Irmgrad Digby and Amrit O’Flaherty. But they won no fewer than six of the holes on the back nine to squeeze home, also by one hole.
They will be hoping to continue that form through three more rounds if they are to reach finals week at the Marriott Forest of Arden in October.
