It's never over until it's over!

THE old golf adage states that two up with five to play never wins. Well, it seems even two up with three to play is no guarantee of success in the ever-unpredictable world of the Daily Mail Foursomes.
At least three pairings found that out to their cost in this year’s third round.
Mark Rietzler and Mike Ward, of Alton, must have thought they had pulled off the great escape as they stood two-up on the 16th tee, having trailed by four holes after five.
But Paul Rutland and Paul Stevens, from the Oak Park club in Crondall, Hampshire, won two of the last three holes before also winning the first extra hole to complete victory and round off another massive turnaround.
Rowlands Castle’s Dennis Wing and Chris Jenkins were down from the first hole against Hayling’s Gary Foster and Tony Whiteaway. But despite being two up with three to play, the Hayling golfers lost each of the last three holes as Dennis and Chris triumphed one up.
Similarly, Essex’s Richard Lister and Mark Ashby were two up with three to play, only for Frinton’s Ian Binns and Simon Martin-Redman to win the last three holes.
No doubt there will be plenty more twists and turns on the way to the finals at the Marriott Forest of Arden in October.
