Extra time for Crieff pair

Daily Mail

LIFE at home has been anything but easy for Mike McIntosh and Adam Rennie, even though they stand just one more win away from finals week at the Daily Mail Foursomes.
The pairing from Crieff in Tayside made it through the sixth round with a 19th hole victory over Glasgow Victoria’s Jim Robertson and Dave Stevenson.
And that was the third time in their four home games that they have needed extra holes during their run to the seventh and final round before the showpiece at the Marriott Forest of Arden.
They looked to be on their way out in the first round when they arrived at the 16th tee three down to David Smart and Billy Alexander, from Culcrieff. But they won four holes in a row to seal victory on the 19th green.
And they also had to go down the first extra hole to beat Killin’s Gordon Aitken and Alan McColm in round four.
Their most comfortable victory came away at Strathpeffer Spa, when they beat Michael and Kevin Bartlett 4&2 in the fifth round, although they saw every hole on Gleneagles’ celebrated King’s Course before beating Dun Whinny’s Michael Collier and Andrew Lothian by one hole in round three.
