Sibling Rivalry possible between Lees Hall and Hawkstone Park

Daily Mail

ANNE JERVIS is closing in on an immediate return to the Daily Mail Foursomes finals week - and this year she could have her sister as one of her rivals.
Anne and Lees Hall playing partner June Miller represented the Sheffield club at Marriott Dalmahoy last October, and they moved into the fifth round of this year’s tournament after a 5&4 victory over Harrogate’s Tina Meadows and Cynthia Parker.
It has been a good year on the course so far for Anne, 54, who achieved her first hole in one in May during a friendly match at Hallamshire in May.
Meanwhile, Anne’s sister, Julie Wales, joined her sibling in the fifth round when Julie and Louisa Goff, from the Hawkstone Park club in Shrewsbury, beat Vanessa Statham and Stephanie Overton, of Bridgnorth, by one hole. It was the third time in four rounds that the Hawkstone Park pairing have won their match on the 18th hole, while the Bridgnorth pair had also won their previous two matches at the last.
Anne and June have been getting steadily better over the years in the Daily Mail Foursomes. Having been knocked out in the opening round in their first crack at the competition, they reached the sixth round in 2010 before going all the way to the last 16 showpiece last year, so this year they will be hoping to reach the final itself.
Finals week this year will be at the Marriott Forest of Arden in October.
