County champions from Cornwall to Durham

Daily Mail
29 May 2012

TWO multiple county champions from opposite ends of England are already over halfway along the road to finals week in the women’s section of the Daily Mail Foursomes.
Pauline Dobson, who won the Durham title for the eighth time this year, and Sarah-Jane Boyd, whose victory in this year’s Cornwall championship was her fourth success, both won through their respective fourth-round matches for South Moor and Truro.
Pauline, 42, and Lesley Jennings beat Heworth’s Anne Ingle and Bernie Craig 2&1 while Sarah-Jane, who became the youngest ever winner of the Cornwall title in 20007 when she was just 15, and Nathalie John went through at the expense of Carlyon Bay’s Bev Adams and Charlaine Platt.
Sarah-Jane was also runner-up in last year’s South West Ladies Championship.
However, Sussex county player Aileen Greenfield, who reached the semi-finals of her county competition this year, went out in the foursomes’ fourth round when her Pyecombe pairing with Jo Galway were beaten 3&1 by Worthing’s Suzanne Harmsworth and Denise Moore.
Finals week this year will be played at the Marriott Forest of Arden in the West Midlands in October.
