Heard brothers fight on

Daily Mail
24 May 2011

Three brothers are still battling in the Daily Mail Foursomes after victories in the third round.
Colin and Andrew Heard from the Stone Club in Staffordshire beat Haydn Evans and Geoff Cooper from
the Manor Club, Kingstone, at the first extra hole. Meanwhile, big brother Keith Heard, 54, who plays
for Northampton, teamed up with Brad Jarvis to beat Michael Franklin and Stuart Trigwell from Staverton
Park, 2&1. Colin and Andrew's victory capped a number of remarkable comebacks as they had trailed by
five holes with seven to play. Lee Hutchings and Paul Thomas from Haverfordwest were also in trouble
at four down with six to play against Ashburnham's Huw Dixon and Ian Thomas in Wales, but won five of
the last six.

Michael Pooley from Cooden Beach, beat Royal Eastbourne's David Hunt and John Harmer at the first extra
hole, while Jon Scutt and Melvyn Pugh, from the Potters Bar Artisans, also needed to go to the 19th
to beat Old Fold Manor Artisans' Stephen O'Donovan and Terry Dallesio.
