1. The Mail On Sunday Golf competition has been running for 16 years and is now the biggest team golf competition in the world.
 

2. Over 200,000 players have taken part since the tournament was launched.

3. The competition is unique in that it gives keen club golfers the chance to put their skills against some of the top amateur golfers in the UK & Ireland.

4. The Classic has been an important ‘stepping stone' for some of the best young golfers in the country, a number of who are now plying their trade on the European Tour.
